Skin care for Dyshidrotic Eczema

Skin care is just as important as cutting down sugar and junk food.

I have sensitive skin and whenever I apply a lotion, my skin becomes irritated.  For instance, many lotions such as Cereve, Eucerin, Jergens, Aveeno, Vaselline, Gold Bond, Curél, Dove, Nivea, and St Ives irritated my skin because they contain chemicals.

Therefore, people with sensitive skin should avoid lotions and use all natural products such as coconut oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, jojoba oil, rose hip seed oil, vitamin E oil and castile soap. Similarly, these products provide moisturizing properties. Here are some facts about these skin care products.

Coconut Oil is effective and safe as mineral oil when used as a moisturizer for mild to moderate xerosis (dry skin). In one study they reduce protein loss when used on hair

Shea Butter, the history of shea butter as a precious commodity can be traced back to Ancient Egypt, where shea butter was and continues to be used to protect the hair and skin in the fierce sun and the hot dry winds of African deserts and Savannah

Cocoa Butterused as a daily moisturizer to prevent dry, itchy skin and treating chapped, or burned skin, and lips

Jojoba Oil-has high levels of vitamin E and is an antioxidant, both of which may help prevent scars

Rosehip seed oilcommonly used for a variety of skin conditions, including dermatitis, and eczema, for mature and sun burnt skin as well as brittle nails and wrinkles. It is also frequently used to heal scarring and diminish photo-aging.

Vitamin E oilused skin disorders, aging skin, and sunburns

Castile soap- soap made with olive oil

I have combined coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, and vitamin E oil together.

Ingredients list:

*softened Shea Butter, 16 oz
*softened Coconut Oil, 16 oz
*softened Cocoa Butter, 16 oz
*Vitamin E Oil (45,000 IU), 2 oz
*Medium pot
*Cheesecloth
*Empty Container

-To soften up the shea butter and cocoa butter, submerged the jars but not all the way so water won’t seep through in a bowl of warm water. It will take 30 minutes
-To soften up coconut oi: first of all, place in microwave;  second, heat in increments of 15 seconds; and third, the coconut oil should be soft.

In a medium pot on low heat, combine the softened shea butter, softened cocoa butter, and coconut oil in the pot. Stir to mix together and turn off the heat. Lift the pot away from the burner to a cool area and wait for 30 mins to cool. After 30 mins, pour half the bottle of Vitamin E oil. Mix well, strain in a cheesecloth, and pour into a jar. Refrigerate for 24 hours and will be ready to use. The mixture will be hard in cold weather. Do not worry, get a dime size amount and it will melt. On hot days, the mixture will melt as coconut oil melts at 78 degrees Fahrenheit/25 degrees Celsius.

Apply the mixture 3-4 times a day. At night, apply a good amount and wear a sock. Many health food stores sell them or clicking on the affiliated links provided.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure the products are 100% coconut oil, 100% cocoa butter, or 100% vitamin E oil. No added ingredients.
