What is Dyshidrotic Eczema?

Understanding Dyshidrotic Eczema

Dyshidrotic Eczema, also termed as Dyshidrosis or Pompolyx is a skin condition in which tiny, fluid filled blisters appear on the palms, fingers and feet. They appear as large as the size of a pin head, are irregular shaped and not all blisters comes in the same size and shape. They come together and form larger blisters. The blisters are usually very itchy. Eventually, the blisters will “ooze” “bleed” or “pop”, causing the skin to open and be very painful. Once the skin dries, the skin forms a very dry thick skin. It may worsen, takes months to heal, and keeps re-occurring. It can sometimes be confused with similar-looking conditions such as psoriasis or dermatitis.
